National Day exhibition opens at Etihad Modern Art Gallery

In honour of the 44th UAE National Day, Etihad Modern Art Gallery and the Al Mutaqa Literary Club have organised a tribute to the UAE heritage and culture with a group exhibition that features works by artists that illustrate the spirit and heart of the nation.

The Venezuelan healing artist Wilma Burton has created two pieces for the exhibition. Emirati Bedouin creates awareness of the nomadic Bedouin tribes that are the founding pillars of the UAE society and national identity. Peace features the colours of the UAE flag and the translation of the word “peace” in 27 languages as a reminder of the safe haven found in the country, and to inspire world peace in troubled times.

• The exhibition is open until the end of December, 10am-10pm, Saturdays to Thursdays (closed Fridays), Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Bateen Area, Street 4, Villa 4/2, opposite Cure Medical Centre and Al Bateen Mall, Abu Dhabi. Call 02 667 1229, or visitwww.etihadmodernart.com
